There are many techniques to focus on your gameplay, calm down, or become more confident. Here are five exercises that professional shooter gamers do to improve their skills before or during the game:
- Warming up with Aimtrainer. There are many programs for aiming training. Even some games have a shooting range. Warming up will give you an instant boost to skills like hitting, spraying, reaction time and confidence.
- Wear sleeves and a pair of gloves (but not while playing, of course). Warm muscles will give you an advantage in reaction time and accuracy. Cold fingers are more inflexible.
- Meditation. Yes, that is correct. Meditating before a match helps you get rid of all the negative aspects of your real life. The result is a focused start to the match. Then, between rounds where you get killed early in the game, you can go for a mini-meditation to regain energy and positivity.
- Implement emotional habits. You may have already seen this habit among professional players. After winning or even losing a round, all players touch their clenched fists. A battle cry or slogan can have a positive effect on your mental strength, confidence and focus when you and your mates are on a virtual team.
- Practice continuously, even in the game. Even if you have a strategic position or a task where there is nothing to do, stay active. Move your character, aim at different targets (trees, windows …), think about what your enemies are trying to plan and do. Keeping the brain active means less reaction time when coming into contact with opponents.
